David Grey is an artist, designer, and boutique farmer. With a BA in Psychology from Tufts University and an MFA in Graphic Design from CalArts, David spent 15 years as a university professor and founded the Graphic Design Department at Santa Fe University of Art and Design. He’s taught international design workshops in Italy, Spain, Germany, Mexico, Brazil, India, and Kuwait. Teaching a holistic practice called Artful Awareness, David explores Graphic Design as Contemplative Art, a mindfulness practice informed by the subtle energies of design elements and principles. His large format contemplative art prints are a result of this practice. In addition to running an independent design studio for 20+ years, David’s been the art director of a sneaker company, an electronic music label, an international new media festival, and a historic New Mexico farmhouse inn. These days, he splits his time in Northern New Mexico between studio life in Santa Fe and farm life in Abiquiu.
